The Carthage Student Experience

At Carthage, the student experience is about more than just coursework; it's about personal growth, leadership development, and a sense of belonging. During their time at Carthage, students forge lifelong friendships, engage in diverse extracurricular activities, and contribute to a culture of collaboration.

To enable students to engage at Carthage fully, we depend on the generosity of donors who contribute to funding essential resources, ensuring that students have the support they need, from health and wellness to education beyond the classroom.

Give to the Area You Care About:

Allocate your gift to one of the below areas that directly support the Carthage Student Experience. To designate your gift, simply select the appropriate fund on the dropdown menu when prompted on the donation form.

Luther's Lunchbox was created in 2019 to help address food insecurities at Carthage. The stop-and-go supplemental food program is available to students year-round, offering snacks, quick-serve meals, hygiene products, and more. It has become an essential resource for those who simply don't have enough food.

The Big Red Textbook Fund*, created in 2018, allows students to take the courses that interest them regardless of the cost of materials. Your support of the Big Red Book Fund enables accessible learning, student empowerment, and inclusivity among our student body.

Summer Undergraduate Research Experience (SURE) has been a hallmark of the Carthage experience since the mid-1990s. The undergraduate research initiative takes place each summer and offers between 20 and 50 students the opportunity to conduct collaborative research and creative projects alongside faculty mentors that expand education beyond the classroom.

Teletherapy Mental Health Fund allows us to continue the essential work of providing students with convenient 24/7 care. This program allows students to select a therapist based on their needs and work with a professional licensed in their home state or country. Many students prefer virtual engagement, and wait times are significantly reduced, allowing more students to seek and receive the care they need to succeed at Carthage.

Study Abroad Fund offers students financial support to expand their education beyond campus. At Carthage, we believe it's not enough to read and talk about the world. Students need to experience living, learning, and working in other countries and cultures.

Centrique Magazine*, founded by Phil Carl '70 and  Larry Dunn '70, is Carthage's student-led fine arts magazine that celebrates creativity, connection, and community. Entirely run by students, the publication serves as a platform to unite the campus through storytelling and artistic expression. Each issue showcases a vibrant collection of creative works from both students and faculty, reflecting the diverse talents and voices of the Carthage community.

Engagement and Inclusion Center (EIC) equips students, faculty, and staff with the knowledge and skills to foster a more inclusive community. Your support helps expand this program, creating a campus where everyone can thrive.

Student Emergency Assistance Fund provides critical financial support to students facing unexpected hardships. Your gift helps ensure that students can stay focused on their education during times of crisis.
